Bio-identical hormones have the same chemical and molecular structures that are produced in the body. They are derived from plant estrogens whereas traditional hormones are synthetic some made from the urine of pregnant horses. These are more potent than what our body needs. BHRT Pensacola can ease the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.

They may also improve symptoms of cancer treatment and treat insulin resistance, adrenal and thyroid disorders, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia.

Hot Flashes

Night sweats

Mood changes

Sleep issues

Loss of interest in sex or pain during sex

They may reduce the risk for diabetes, tooth loss and cataracts. BHRT may improve skin thickness, hydration, elasticity and reduce wrinkles. After cancer treatments that affect estrogen levels, BHRT has been shown to improved general well-being and quality of life. In one study, people that underwent BHRT treatment found relief from some symptoms such as migraines, incontinence, low libido and insomnia. The recurrence of breast cancer was no higher than the average person.

Things that can affect hormone balance in women are stress, pregnancy or menopause. In women, hormones start to decline with age. Women start to produce less estrogen in the 30’s then progesterone begins to decline and finally testosterone. Birth control may also cause hormonal imbalance.

We also often recommend DHEA (Dehyroepinandrosterone) which converts to testosterone and estrogen. It is the precursor to our hormones. Decreases as you age and decrease is associated with several diseases such as heart disease, depression and increased mortality.
